the colors here appear more saturated on the cinema display than on the macbook pro screen. i assume the cinema display is correct, since that displays the full saturations properly (and the macbook pro screen more dull).

- how can i calibrate the macbook pro screen to match the cinema display?

I used a Pantone Huey, which I bought for about 90 dollars I think... It got my MBP LED screen pretty close to the Cinema Display. I still think the ACD looks a lot better in terms of contrast and saturation though.

Before the Huey Calibration on both screens, there was simply no way to match the two together with just software calibration. It's really worth it- once you calibrate, and then you switch it off to the default or whatever profile you were using before, you almost want to vomit because of how bad it looks in comparison.
