The top status row on the iPhone, iOS tries to decide if it should be light or dark based on your wallpaper. Unfortunately when it breaks, it does so spectacularly.

Is there a setting to control the colour of the status row? I'm currently using a wallpaper that's darker on the bottom half, and lighter on the top half, and for some reason iOS decided that my status text should be white, on a very light background, making it completely useless.

They give you the option for the widgets, but there doesn't appear to be one for the actual crucial information.

As an example.

It’s sad, but so far I have found no way to change the colour of the status icons. The OS decides whether to use light or dark status icons depending on your wallpaper, however, when you use ’extend wallpaper’ it keeps them white, despite often lightening the top of the wallpaper and making them unreadable.
