iPod Colorful Headphones that sound good too? Vmoda Bass Freq?

I'm on a search for bud headphones that are not white, haha. Everyone on campus walks around with their white headphones and I'm looking to break that with some colorful headphones.

So far the best I've found as far as color and sound are the V-Moda Bass Freq, they actually get C-Net's Editor's Choice Award, so they can't be bad.

Only problem is I don't really like in-ear headphones. I need to hear ambient noise when I walk to class so these might be dangerous. Also, to me they are uncomfortable. To my understanding the Bass Freqs are in-ear.

Can anyone suggest headphones similar to Apple's earbuds that sound good and look cool?

Oh, and I'd preferably want orange phones.

Maybe v-moda's Remix M-Class earphones? They match all your critera, except they do not come in orange.

They were rated A- in iLounge's review.

Yeah, just metallic silver, metallic pink and metallic blue.
