Colors, brightness and contrast levels question. Any designers our there?

How does I know if I'm watching a movie or an image in the right colors, brightness and contrast? I ask this because we are getting a brand identity done for one of our sister businesses. The colors/brightness/contrast are being shown at the creative agency's office look duller and definitely not similar to what I'm seeing on my MBA. In general, what color, brightness and contrast does everyone have?
