Hi all. I have an acer predator 240hz G sync monitor with two inputs, I had connected to both my PC for gaming via DP, and my Mac mini M1 2020 via HDMI for general work photo/video, color accurate work.

I calibrated windows and Mac perfectly to my needs with the same monitor. I no longer play games and have put away my PC for now, and now I want that buttery smooth 240hz on my Mac instead of HDMI. My biggest issue and deal breaker right now is that even though it works fine via thunderbolt/displayport adapter, 240hz great on Mac, the colors, contrast, gamma, EVERYTHING looks different/worse/darker/overly contrasted and saturated when the same monitor is connected to my Mac via DisplayPort vs HDMI.

The settings are the same on the monitor obviously, the Mac labels and detects the monitor as the same monitor on both connection types, and I am even using the same color profile I brought over from windows I made with DisplayCal which is how I got my monitor looking good on my Mac via HDMI.

So how is the same monitor, same computer, same color profile, looking completely different on DisplayPort vs HDMI on Mac M1?
