Hi
Just woke my laptop up from sleep and I noticed immediately that all the colours were washed out, as if the contrast had been turned up. I closed the computer, opened it up and everything was back to normal. Any ideas?
I'm getting a little fed up of weird stuff like this happening, my computer feels very unstable, as if its a beta or something.
Starting to regret the upgrade.

Was the battery drained?

I've seen this before too, no idea what causes it. The release notes for 10.5.7 include something called "Fixed color corruption issue". Hopefully, it refers to this glitch.

Or you can Ctrl-Shift-Eject and that should sleep your display -- move the mouse or press a key, and usually the correct color profile gets loaded again.
