In Snow Leopard and before that, you could double-click on the right side of a column to automatically widen it to show the entire name in Finder. But for some reason, I can't do that in Lion. Does anyone have this issue by any chance?

unsure why its not working for you, still works here

double click on the 2 little dashes at the bottom right of the column

I misworded my issue. By column mode, I actually meant LIST MODE, where you see the names, dates, sizes, etc. of every file you have in a folder. In list mode, I can't get each column to expand automatically.
