this question is actually about 10.6.8 sorry!! i dont know much about this stuff and i have no idea where i should be asking this
let's assume for the sake of an argument that i cannot update my operating system and that i have a good reason not to update (it's complicated!)
my problem: when i open a new finder window (i think i have the right term for this) it always shows up in the same view as the one i opened before it. in other words, i would like to be able to click on folders on my desktop and have them open up in whatever view i want them to, for example i want "work stuff" to open in list view and "soccer junk" to open in column view etc. but what happens is, i open "work stuff" in list view and then i open "soccer junk" and "soccer junk" opens in list view TOO just cuz the previous folder i opened was in list view
