The new 6s is a big improvement from the previous models in terms of functionality and speed, but I've been reading many complaints of new features that makes the 6s stand out from previous models.

Personally, I've started missing messages and other notifications.

The super fast TouchID speeds past the lock screen before I'm able to even glance at what apps the notifications are from.

The Taptic Engine is seemingly less than ideal for a quiet notification. I love the feel of the new vibration, however I have to be physically in contact with the phone to feel it. I spent a few minutes testing the range in which I could be away from my 6s to feel the vibrations on a flat table in a quiet area of my university's library. With my finger less than half an inch away from the device, I was unable to feel the vibrations of incoming notifications.

So my question is how do you go about improving the experience of receiving notifications?

I'm probably going to take some time today to create new subtle tones for my notifications. Apps like Group Me I don't care to hear the notifications at all, so I'll disable sounds in notification settings. Is there a good collection of quiet notifications I can use for texts, emails, and phone calls? If not, I'm going to throw the current ones into Garage Band and decrease the volume before exporting it to iTunes.

But what about seeing the lock screen. Is everyone just deleting their primary fingerprints (mine are my thumbs) and opting to use secondary fingerprints? I've thought about disabling the passcode entirely.

Before people come in and claim it's time for me to change my phone behaviors, I'm very aware I could use the lock button and just enable the ringer. I'm trying to personalize my experience and see if anyone else has ideas to improve the our overall interaction.
