I got a new iMac Core i3 OSX 10.6.5. I set up my email accounts using old address and created some folders that kinda matched my interim MacBook. I'd created one profle on the iM (Acct B)and eventually created another to bring stuff over from the MB (Acct A). I've got most of the stuff brought over and combined, photos, music etc, but am having trouble getting the emails combined/merged. I'd like to just have one profile for everything on the iM.
I'm wanting to combine the folders and rules etc as well as saved emails so that the iM looks like the old MB but with the new stuff included.
While I'm in the Acct B profile, I've tried this by going to Finder/ MacHD/Users/Acct A/Library so I can get to Mail to drag and drop it to ...../Acct B/Library/Mail folder.
The folders in Acct A have a red circle w/ a dash thru them and I can't access them because I don't have permission.
I've got to System Prefences/Accts and unlocked the lock on both A and B profiles, but that doesn't help.
I've tried the same starting in Acct A as well, with the same results (except the folders in Acct B are blocked)
Am I going about this the wrong way?
I could sure use some guidance.
I hope my description makes sense, let me know if I need to describe some thing better.
Thanks lots.
