I was just told by my boss of the solar installation company I work at that they are giving me a company iPhone 14 Pro Max when they become available… which is a good thing, because my personal iPhone 11 Pro Max just died a horrible death. Who knew that installing solar panels all Summer would result in a totally smashed front & back screen & broken LCD? I got the front screen fixed today… but my personal iphone 11 Pro max is definitely on it’s last leg. So I may still get another personal iPhone as well.

Here’s my question. Anyone here who has been given an iphone pro from their job? Did you still keep your personal iPhone? Or combine them? I understand that with the dual esim, you can have two numbers on one phone… even if the numbers are from different carriers. My company uses verizon for their company iphones & i use Mint mobile on my personal iphone. But i understand that you can’t have two seperate Apple IDs on the same iphone. Or you can, but it’s very tricky. If it was my own business, it wouldn’t be an issue. But it’s not, and I want to keep all my personal stuff private & separate from my work stuff.

I use my personal iPhone for everything. I use Apple pay instead of carrying a wallet now. I do creative photography on it. And I just don’t want my company to have access to any of that info or to lose any of my info switching back & forth btwn my work & personal phone # & apple IDs. Anyone here who is in a similar situation? Did you find a solution? Was it easy or complicated? Or did you just keep two iphones? One for work? And one for business? Thanks!

Hi!

I use both my personal and business/work numbers on my personal phone (iPhone 13).
My work uses MDM on phones they provide (iPhones 11), so I don’t have to worry about that.
As for my business, I’m my own boss so it’s a non-issue!
That dual SIM capability is really convenient and pretty easy to manage, even with two different carriers.

It depends on what your company policies are and your personal preferences.

If your company requires you to install a a company profile to access their email and data, or they use any MDM platform like Apple Business Manager, Microsoft Intune, Meraki MDM or Google device Policy etc., then keep both phones separate. Otherwise I would just set up company stuff on personal phone (outlook app if Microsoft email service, Gmail app if Google workspace. And then leave company phone idle. These MDM allows them to install/restrict apps, track phone location, erase, lock etc., also you will have to move over your personal data if you decide to leave the company. Even small businesses are now choosing some sort of MDM these days.

I currently use separate phone for work due to policies and I hate it. Carrying two phone in pocket is bothering me too much, mainly in your case it’s a Max.

I wish one day Apple will bring separate work profile and personal profile setup on same phone to iPhone like Android devices.
