Hi,
I recently got an iMac G4 flat panel from a friend of mine. It was running mac OS X 10.1.5 at the time. I have upgraded the OS to Tiger (10.4.1) and updated it to 10.4.11 thru software update option. Everything looks fine except the combo drive (I know it can read DVD's because the "about this mac" --> "more info" panel says it can read and write CD's and can read DVD's. Also, the Tiger install DVD - which I guess is a data DVD - ran fine) is not accepting movie DVD's. I have the system configured to automatically open the "DVD player" application to open when there is a DVD in the drive, but it doesn't appear on the desktop (unlike an audio CD) and the DVD player application does not automatically pop up. I read up a bunch of posts in different forums and tried "repair disk permissions" on the Macintosh HD drive and restarting; no luck. I also tried macjanitor --> ran all tasks and re-started; still no luck. Can anybody please advise me what to do?

Thanks in advance...
