I just got m mac today and I see that it has the program Comic Life in the applications folder. Is this a full version, or just a demo/trial version. I ask this because I saw this app at the Apple store and I thought I had to buy it(almost did). Thanks.:) :apple: :)

You can UPGRADE to the Deluxe version for only $9.95.

The difference between the two are:-

Fonts:
Deluxe: 40
Regular: 7

Templates:
Deluxe: 322
Regular: 78

Styles:
Deluxe: 180
Regular: 78

Wait... if it is the whole version, then why do they sell it separately?

It's a novelty thing like the Big Bang Board games and it depends on which mac you have whether or not it's included.

Also for some reason www.play.com have it listed under the mac games so that might be something to do with how the program is viewed...

Why anyone would consider it a novelty thing clearly has no idea about comic booking. As an artist I find it's an incredibly useful tool, but I guess if you can do nothing more than use your out of focus pictures taken from your 2MP camera then I guess I understand why some would see it that way. :D

Comic Life is fantastic. It's as much a novelty as iDVD*.

*I don't use iDVD at all, so it's usefulness is irrelevant to me.

Did any of you ever see 'Pirates of Silicon Valley' and Steve comes in on the programmers assing around? And on the screen is an ascii pig instead of a proper app?

That is what Comic Life is.

Steve was too busy with his iPhone to bust up the fatuous giggle fest this time.

I do remember the film, but can't remember that scene!? a lil head jogging might help me remember that scene!!

...hmmmmmm have not seen this app in my Mac!? does this come in OSX 10.3.9 or the later versions?! Also, I looked at the link that Osarkon posted and read the description, but does not specify if this only works with pictures or can I use scanned drawings in order to create a proper comic!!??

:apple:

So what about when any of us clean instal Leopard, does that mean that Comic Life will get wiped away?

If so would be nice to know how to save it? Copy the application to a USB then drag it back in on the Leopard side??

Not sure how it will work?? Anyone with any ideas??

I just bought a new iMac and Comic Life was not on there. I have it on my MacBook so I used my USB stick and copied it to there from the applications folder. I then copied it onto the new iMac and it works flawlessly.

Thanks for that, all I have to do now is remember to put it on my stick and looks like I will be good to go when the time comes!!

Thanks!!
