I've had the 2013 11" Macbook Air for almost six years now and I obviously need to upgrade (battery warning even says its time!). I am a graphic designer/illustrator and have been using a "borrowed" Adobe suite and I've never had a problem. BUT, I don't do as much design on it so it, I mainly use it for search for images and web work, yet I still like having the option of using my laptop for InDesign, Photoshop, etc.

My question is, should I stay with the MPA family and just upgrade OR do I go to the more expensive and more powerful MacBook Pro? Price is always an issue, but I get the most out of what I have. I almost always go the refurbish route as well.

Any opinions would be helpful!

I would say go with the MBP for your professional needs. Keep the 11" MBA, replace the battery in it and use that computer simply for emails and lazy web browsing...

It is always good to have two laptops in case something unforeseen happens to your main one. Then you will have the other to fall back on until you get the main one repaired...
