My computer works fine currently but is no longer under warranty and trade in estimate of $730. Curious if there is anything worth waiting for for another year to hold out on anyone thinks? Assuming it doesn’t break I could hang onto it for another year.

Also, given that there isn’t a 15 inch option anymore not sure whether to go with 14 or 16 inch. I mostly work on it from home

I was in the exact same position. I work at a local university so I was able to get educational pricing which did help my decision. I traded my late 2016 MBP in for Apple Credit. The MBP worked fine however, it did have an issue with "E" key and the battery was draining way faster than it was indicating (it would read 24% left, but shut down the computer and would need to be connected to power before it would boot back up). I was debating between the 14" and 16" but decided to go with the 16" as the 16" was only $200 more when both machines were configured the same. So with the trade-in credit and Educational pricing, I got a pretty good deal and will look to keep this machine for 5-6 years (as I have done with my last two laptops). I have a estimated delivery date of December 5th (placed my order yesterday).

If you have an iPhone, you can go to the Apple Store website (not app) and use the "See it with AR" option to help get a sese of the size of the machine in your work space. I did this and while it wasn't perfect, it did help.
