Command-Tab is Frustrating

The behavior of Command-Tab in MacOS has always been frustrating: I can switch between apps, but not windows within apps. To do that, I need Cmd-~, which works ok, unless a window is minimized, and then there’s no way to switch to it without grabbing the mouse and clicking its icon.
Is there any way to configure or change this behavior? I haven’t been able to find a solution.

I found a way to do it via keyboard: Move focus to the Dock. Press Control-F3, then you can press Tab or ` to move among open apps, and press arrow keys to move focus among windows, followed by Return/Enter to select . Minimized windows will appear as small thumbnails along the bottom. If all windows of an app are currently minimized, "No Available Windows" appears in a highlighted text box in the center of the display with the minimized window thumbnails at the bottom (as already stated) — press the down arrow and left or right to highlight and select one of them.

Basically, it’s the keyboard alternate of Expose, which requires cursor input.

Have you tried Control + Down Arrow? You can actually edit the keyboard shortcut for it: Settings > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts > Mission Control > Application Windows

D’oh! That does the same thing as Control-F3. I thought I tried all of the Control and arrow key combinations; and they didn’t seem to allow window selection. I blame creating my post while half asleep — some nights insomnia.

Aha! Looks like Alt-tab (alt-tab-macOS.netify.app) does this trick.

No worries.. I also need to learn to read more thoroughly.

Edit: I just noticed that Command+Tab doesn't bring minimized apps out of minimization.
