I downloaded the demo for this game back when my main system was a 1.5Ghz G4, and it wasn't playable.

Now that I have a 2.5Ghz Intel system that can handle the game, the bloody demo "expired". I did the system migration to the new machine so it brought the expired version with it.

I can't seem to find a way to actually try the game before decided whether to buy it or not. Reinstalling of course didn't work.

Suggestions?

Try AppZapper, CleanApp, or any one of those cleaner-upper-deinstaller applications.

I did, took out prefs, didn't find anything else. I almost need someone to install it and monitor the installation through something.

But then again, that might be overkill :p

I just want to actually try the darn thing on a machine that can run it like my new laptop before I shell any $$.
