I was wondering if anyone out there currently owns/uses EyeTV 250? What is your experience with it like: ease of use/connectivity, functionality, convienence, frequency, etc. I am very interested in purchasing it and saw that it is only $200 on Elegato's site which I presume is a reasonable bargain. Does it come with the TV Guide software and can I hook it up using a FireWire or do I have to the the USB port?

Thanks!

I don't have one but I can still answer some of your questions. The EyeTV 250 is Firewire-only. The TV guide is from TitanTV and is built into the software and currently free. I have an EyeTV 500 which uses the same software and the software is very good. Couldn't be simpler to use, and designed only for the Mac so it's not some bad Windows port.

On the 250 website it clearly says there is no firewire port.

You can hook it up via usb 1.1 for regular viewing/recording and for software encoding (game mode) you need usb 2.0

As far as I can tell it isn't out yet, but when it comes out I plan on buying it.

Umm, It's USB 2.0 only.
EyeTV 250 can record, the cheaper models can only tune.
There's a TV Guide program that works reasonably well.
I've heard Elgato's working on letting people see their TV show through Front Row in the near future.
