I have put this scenario on search but I'm not seeing what I need.
I'm not the greatest with computer issues, I apologize. I have a early 2011 17inch MBP I got from my friend which I know worked without any issue.
It will not read my compact flash reader, but if I insert in my 2012 IMac, it reads 1,2,3.
The light comes on but it does not appear on the desktop as an icon. My MBP is running 10.11.3.
I think my IMac is on Yosemite still. I can use my camera to upload the photos ONLY using Lightroom, but it is much slower than using the card reader. Is there a setting to change or to reformat in the MBP? This just does not make much sense. I did call apple support and we did a reset of the USB drives with a combination of keys already at startup.
Card reader is generic, the card I'm using is a 16gb Extreme sandisk. I'm not sure of what's happening.
The computer won't recognize anything with these cards. For some reason Lightroom will recognize my camera but not the computer itself.
