Greetings. I had to reach out to a company for support because I'm not able to install/activate their software. After their initial troubleshooting did not work, they now ask for my MAC's system profile. Is this in any way a reason to worry? Never heard of this system profile, but am wondering if I am giving away way more information than they need?

Depends on the software. What is it and who is the company?
sry for the late reply and thank you for yours! it's a audio company, related to one of it's audio plugins. just weird, because i have a new SSD and installed 100s of plugins, all without issues.

Generate a short report containing no personal information.

Bash:
system_profiler -detailLevel mini

Info: Report system hardware and software configuration
wow thank you so much! i just had their instructions on exporting system profile through 'about mac' - export profile.
this seems to be a lot more of what i wanted.
to clarify do i just paste it into terminal as is (and eventually authenticate with pw)?
