Why would they limit to 1 per customer? There's a good chance the company made millions of these things, and want to get their name out with just a small part of the first batch.

I remember when the iPhone 4 came out there was a company selling cases for 1 penny. I'm pretty sure they're still around but I bought all the colors they offered (you had to pay shipping for each one, though). SO maybe it's not hopeless?

wow, that's it. no iphone 5

I wouldn't necessarily think that.

A ton of us on here got free iPhone 4 bumpers last year when the 4 came out. I can't remember the name of the company but all we had to do was pay shipping.

And keep in mind a shipping price of anything over about a dollar, especially for these flimsy little silicon cases, they're overcharging you. So, even with these "free" giveaways rest assured these companies aren't losing money since they all make you pay $3-4 to ship.

Free case, just pay the 3$€£ shipping and it's yours. This does not mean there is no IPhone 5 or they would recycle them and get some money back!

I sure wish I had the hopeful/positive attitude that you guys seem to have. I'm unfortunately convinced that I'll be greatly disappointed tomorrow.

cases are cheap to make. they will mail them out with shipping less than $1. $4 profit for them.
Plenty of cases on ebay for $2 with free shipping

How about you just keep an open mind and wait to see what they announce.

Well then Apple marketing has you right where they want you, primed for a big surprise ;)

You pay 5 dollars for a free case that ships 10 days after a non-existent product is launched? Makes loads of sence.

Exactly. The same people will agree that the company is using it as a promotion to advertise their company. Talk about not seeing the forest for the trees...

Some of you guys dont understand marketing.

They are giving away to get the name and address of people who might/will/could own iphones. Once they have that, they will try and sell you more stuff through email/post.

Its called a loss leader where you loose money on your first contact with a customer but you sell them on the backend.

100% agree. Marketing degree here. That's exactly what i was thinking.

The founder was a bit of a MR troll when the iPad was was released trying to get people to buy his case. Guess persistence pays off. :p

I agree however at $5 shipping he is probably certainly making a profit.
