Are there real significant performance differences between my MacBook Pros? I wonder if the only differences are:

  • Touch Pad
  • HD space
  • Slight Processor Speed Increase

OR is this a new, improved Core 2 Duo? Are there other parts with increased performance that aren't listed in the summarized specs? A friend (also Apple trainer) said there's L6 cache on the new ones -- I like to know things like that.

Thanks in advance :)

There is no significant difference. The new pros use the Penryn chipset while yours has the Merom. The difference is minute and not worth upgrading for unless you really need a multi touch trackpad

Thank you. I kind of feel like an idiot now. Maybe I can return it if it's unopened. I didn't compare specs before purchasing the new one :(
