Wow. It's clearly the best in the Notes app, but still seems pretty latent :-/

Since i'm waiting for the Apple Pencil to arrive, i've been using my Pencil by FiftyThree in Paper. It's actually pretty good and feels quite a bit less laggy than on my Air 2. It's most likely due to a much improved digitizer. It's got me even more excited for the pencil though as that seems to be a lot better, and the tip doesn't look as big so hopefully it's better for writing.

I would seriously recommend that you put "SLOW MOTION" somewhere in the video and then show the videos at regular speed.

It makes the Ipad Pro looking its terrible for latency when it is not. it's actually comparable if not better than the SP3.

looks......irritating

maybe you should do it again without slow motion.

maybe people should actually read what he wrote before watching the video.

That must have been extremely fast IRL

I have fixed the video and have the original footage first, followed by the slowed down versions.

Ah okay, thanks. Just by looking at it...it appears low latency...but when I actually tried it for 30 mins at the store....yeah...I..(IMO) felt this latency....I don't know...maybe it was just me.

Some apps are better than others. I sat and drew for a good long time in Notes and felt really good about it.

I recorded my finger and a regular stylus on Notes. The latency looks the same. I don't think the Apple Pencil has a faster latency.

If i only saw the normal time video of Paper, i'd say it looks like there's no lag.

Obviously to the human eye this would be near irrelevant, especially for those super talented people who can make great art with any restriction, but I do worry how slow it will be with several layers and masks. A full version of Photoshop would be unusable in such a case.

The same techniques used to reduce apparent latency for the stylus are also applicable to finger input in iOS 9 (predicted touches). So you will cut latency down for both inputs if you do the work. But yes, the latency should be similar since it is the same digitizer. However, the pencil will give you double the points per second than a finger, with higher accuracy.
