These comparisons drive me nuts.

The first generation iPhone is a product that I inboxed in 2007, it entered my life and have still yet to put down 16 years later. On day one, this is a product that was truly the first post-PC device, it was the future of computing, all the platitudes that were thrown at the iPad to make it seem important were actually true of the iPhone.

The original iPhone had a 2g modem, no onboard GPS receiver, and you couldn't copy and paste, and it has steadily improved since then in every way. But from day one, the interaction model was perfect, it replaced a bajillion devices and totally changed how we get through our day.

The Vision Pro is NOT any of those things, it is starting from a way worse spot, it should not be mentioned in the same breath as the first iPhone.

Maybe you should tell Tim that, he is the one who made the comparison.
