Is anyone else having issues with the compass not always aligning to the cardinal directions? Seems to come and go on my 6S plus.

My compass is hit and miss by 5-10 degrees. It is all in the calibration, as sometimes it does not calibrate correctly. No big deal as I would never depend on it. Now the GPS is something you CAN depends on.

I am having the same issue with a 6s+, my is off 90 degrees to as much as 180 degrees , like the op said, it seems to come and go, but it's really quite annoying.

Has anyone actually seen the compass calibration screen come up on their 6s ? I seen it all the time on my mom's 6+, but not once on my 6s+

FYI , there is a free app in the App Store called Phone Doctor, it checks the various components on your phone, my failed on the digital compass test, tried on 3 separate 6s+'s, all failed on the same thing.

Can anyone with an iPhone 6s+ try Phone Doctor and post their digital compass test result ?

6+ from last year didn't give any error, only the 6s+

Yep I tried the same thing. My 6S failed the Phone Doctor compass test. Compass app works fine, but compass in Phone Doctor doesn't move.

I'm guessing that means it's a bug in the Phone Doctor app.

Mine was off at least going back to my 4. One time I got 4 iPhone 4's put right next to each other. None of them gave the same reading. I also noticed on my 5 and my 6 Plus. I gave up hoping for an accurate compass years ago.

Do you seriously need the iPhone compass to function perfectly? I've always assumed it to be an inaccurate gimmick and have never user it, ever.

Maybe you're using it indirectly through Google/Apple Maps. Compass has been there since the 3GS, surely Apple have nailed it by now.
