Compass keeps turning on without me doing anything

For some reason, compass is always on when I don't trigger it. I use the watchface that has the dot on top that will open compass if I tap it but I never do and it still opens. How do I prevent it? I wish the watch had a lock feature like the iPhone.

Have you by any chance started a recording a backtrack in the compass app? Bottom right icon. If it's recording I assume it will show the dot as it is an ongoing activity and keep opening.

Are you wearing long sleeves? I found that the watch would do unexpected behavior, like open apps or other functions, when it brushed against the sleeves of some of my shirts. My solution was to turn on water lock when wearing long sleeves. I even made a shortcut on my iPhone so I can toggle water lock off and on from the phone.
