I'm looking into buying a MIDI controller for my MacBook Pro, so I can use it in my production. I produce electronic and "dupstep" music. Does anyone know of any reasonably priced (under $300) MIDI controllers compatible with GarageBand '11?

Thanks.

Better question might be: "Does anyone know of any MIDI controllers that are NOT compatible with GarageBand?" The answer would be "No."

MIDI is very standardized especially if you use "real MIDI" that is those two round DIN jacks and not USB MIDI.

There are SO many on the market. But what id different is the quality of the key action. You have to try them yourself.

One other thing is that keyboards that have their own internal sounds don't cost more. Look at those too.
