Compatible with black iPhone but not white iPhone??

So I'm looking at a case here that says that it's only compatible with black iPhone 4/4S but not the white, and then what looks to be the same exact item that says it's compatible with all iphones for $2 more. I wasn't aware that the white and black iphones looked different?

so upon doing some google research, it looks like there were rumors that the white iphone was slightly thicker than the black iphone, but it was just a rumor. Is this true?
