Here's what I did (or screwed up):
-boot camp partition, worked!
-puts dvd into superdrive, eject without fail. Superdrive is probably spoilt.
-connect external dvd drive, "no bootable device"
-deleted the mac partition and formatted a pro-windows partition.
-tried again, with "no bootable device" as result
-retraced my steps, tried reinstalling macosx. unable to reinstall due to compatibility.

im gonna cry.
can anyone help with this?
 
Hold the power button down to force shut it off. Then hold the eject key down while turning it on.

Else a trip to the Apple store to get the Superdrive fixed would be 1st on my list.

Then reformat & reinstall.
