Hello all,

I may be purchasing a new MBP to replacement my old one. One of the issues I am not looking forward to is the transfer of all my data and installed applications.

Is there a procedure on how this is done so that my new machine essentially has the same files, and configuration/setup as my original machine?

Thanks

On you old Mac just clone to external (with USB3 or better connections) and the plug it into the new Mac before booting it. During the boot up it will ask to transfer data using /Applications/Utilities/Migration Assistant.app and transfer any pictures, etc. just don't transfer network setting and set this up manually and this will prevent easily networking errors in the future.
