Completely black display that wont turn on. MacBook Pro (15-inch Late 2011) with OS

i have a MacBook Pro (15-inch Late 2011) with
OS X Mountain Lion 8.0.1 with a display that is completely black and won't turn on
I've tried resetting using command, option, P, R; holding down D, holding down C; and holding down shift; but nothing works. Please help.

Did you try another magsafe, what did it do, did it instantly happen or you had slight problems before this, I guess a faulty magsafe.

Does it chime?

If so hold it up when its started up, with the apple symbol on the back towards a bright light, and you may be able to see what should be displayed very faintly using the light through the apple symbol. If thats the case it probably needs a new backlight.
