I have a fairly technical question. I am wondering if disabling the cellular data option in fact turns off the 3G entirely. I want to make sure the 3G chip is not broadcasting at all ANY 3g spectrum.

I am having a difficult time finding out of course. I don't have a spectrum analyzer for the 3g range, otherwise I could find out rather easily.

Anybody know?

I understand that turning off the Cellular Data option disables 3G in so far as that the ipad no longer uses 3G connectivity. My question is really more about any radio frequencies that may be emitted from the device, and if in fact all 3g radio frequencies cease to be transmitted after turning off Cellular Data.

Turning off Cellular Data turns off the 3G cellular chip. Thus, it generates no 3G radio signals.
