I want to completely uninstall and then re-install the League of Legends client for Mac. I understand that I can just drag the app to the trash, but there must be other files that are left within the system. I am trying to change the hotkey files, but no matter what I do, the game returns to a hot key set up I don't want to use.

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

There is a forum post here that says the settings are in these folders:

to OP:
as league of legends "for mac" isnt a mac application at all it stores its data a little bit different from native mac apps:
look inside you ~/Library/Preferences folder
there are 2 folders: "League of Legends Preferences" and "LolClient".
delete those and delete the League of Legends.app from your Applications folder and everything should be gone.

Just option click the Go menu and select Library to get to that user library folder mentioned.
