Hi I neep help with back up images

I have 2 Macbook Pro laptops both Santa Rosa one 15 and one 17
one back up external drive

on the 17 I have 3 partitions Snow Leopard , Win 7, 64 on bootcamp and Data
on the 15 I have 1 partition Lion

I want to create a bootable image(clone) of each on my external hardrive if that is at all possible

I mean if I have a partition problem I want to be able to backup that same image and be able to boot normally

I know it is tricky because of different MBR and the proper position on the disk I suppose

I have use Winclone with success before but now it seem a little more complicated

Really appreciated please for expert only not the you think it should work

Thanks

Do you really need your cloned copy of windows to be bootable? I just got a new secondary internal drive, and had to do something very similar to this. I dont know anything about Lion, otherwise I'd explain it to you, but I think you'd be making your life a lot easier if you just kept the Winclone image on your external, rather than a full copy (which is however possible).

I will read that as:

I mean if I have a partition problem I want to be able to restore the backup image and be able to boot normally

As riptideMBP says: keeping the Winclone image as a file on the external should allow you to do this.
