Okay, I want to apologize if this has been answered elsewhere, I looked here and on Google but found nothing. I'm not sure of the terminology to begin with so that probably doesn't help.
I'm interested in the AW since I went headfirst into the Apple ecosystem last year (iMac when my old computer died, added an IPP for a laptop replacement, and got my wife's old iPhone when she upgraded).
My question is this—after doing a lot of research and falling in love with the sexy customizable watch faces on Samsung/Android watches, I was trying to find a way to customize the rather blah options Apple decided to give us (I wouldn't be caught dead with Mickey Mouse on my wrist. I write post apocalyptic fiction for a living...I have a reputation to uphold, you know?). Then I found out about the custom faces, where you can upload whatever pictures you want. Well, that's cool and all, but what about the information widget things? Do we lose those if we want a picture of say, a zombie or something? Is there a way to put your own picture up there and add the little extra bits of info to make it, you know, useful? If I end up getting an AW, it'll primarily be for fitness/notifications, so I'll likely end up being forced to use the face designed for that, but it would be really nice to add complication/widget things to my own image and doesn't seem like it would be that big a deal.
Is that possible? My gut tells me no, unfortunately, since I haven't found any evidence of it anywhere on the internets, but I wanted to ask here and find out for sure. MacRumors has been my go-to source for any and all information during my journey from the PC/Android world so I figure if I can't find the answer here, it's a moot point. It might not be a deal breaker, but man, would it make a big difference in which way I jumped vs Vivoactive 3 and other fitness tracker options.
