Hi guys,

I have had a dock for an iPhone 3GS successfully connected to my old Sony rear projection TV (for audio and video) using a component cable. I've finally upgraded to a Panasonic Viera (P54G25) but I cannot get the setup to work. I've connected it to the TV's composite in port (in fact, the only one with a yellow plug) and set the input to video 1 but...nothing. I've tried all the input and plug combos without success. The biggest difference between the former setup and the new one is that I don't have an a/v receiver in the new one. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Actually, video is working, but not audio...

I just tested it again, and I was actually able to get video to play (with sound), but audio tracks still did not play. Sorry for the confusion.

Workaround solutions

Turns out that some newer TV's ignore an audio signal if there's no video. The best workaround is to play a slideshow with the music set to Now Playing, which I think is default. Check out this thread for other ideas.
