Compose New Message in Mail Through Dock Icon

With Leopard, I could hold down the mouse while hovering over the Mail in the dock, and a pop-up window would appear allowing me to compose a new message without actually opening Mail.

Is there a way to do this in Snow Leopard? All I get is the option to hide, quit, or show options (which doesn't have the option to compose a new message).

Nevermind, I answered my own question.

Holding down the control button does it.
