Hi

I have a friend ;) who has downloaded some movies at 699mb which he thought would fit onto a video cd. However, Toast says the file is much bigger and won't fit onto a cd! The files are divx and avi formats.

Is it possible to record them onto 700mb cds or does he have to use dvds?

Thanks!

How are these going to be played

Depending on how they are going to be played the choices of software varies

I had this same problem with files the other night in iTunes. If you are just looking for storage the 700 MB space should be fine. If you are looking to play these files back on a VCD player or something, then you are bound by the constraints of playtime allowed by the 700 MB disc, which is usually just 80 minutes, right?

Thanks reubs, that explains it. They were going to be played back on a dvd player and were movie length so it wouldn't fit on.

Cheers!
