I have to email a file to a friend of mine.
The file is 22Mb. The problem is I can only send emails that are less than 15Mb. How can I compress a file on Mac? Is there something like winRar?

Try right-clicking on the file and then Compress ""

NOTE: You probably wont be able to use anything to compress a file that much, that is some serious compression. You might be able to get it to 19MB, then you could email it via Gmail ...

Blue Velvet has the right idea - I would follow that advice to get the job done quickly. (yousendit.com)

But if you're interested in splitting large files for other reasons check out my post on splitting files. It's helpful for uploading large files in smaller chunks or spanning optical disks.

That was very useful. Thanks. :)

While I love Leopard , I can`t believe there`s nothing like winRar.
If Windows becomes Fast, Virus Free, Affordable, Good looking ... I would switch to a PC (Maybe in the next century)! :p
