I have FCP X and Compressor 4 installed on two identical new Macbook Pros. I'd like to use one of the MBPs for compressing video I edit on the other.

I was able to create a quick cluster on one of them, and can see it in both FCP and Compressor on the other.

However, when I submit a job to the cluster, it "processes" for 10 seconds, and then goes into "Waiting" status for a long long time.

I've checked the log and there is a message that says "Source file must be copied remotely".

I have mounted the working disk as a network share on the remote machine, but it still does not start compressing the video.

I have roughly 65 5-10 minute clips that I'll need to edit starting next month, and I'd like to be able to offload the rendering of them to this other computer.

If anyone has any tips, I would be greatly appreciative.
