Compressor only using 30% of CPU

I run Compressor 4.0.7 on a quad core Mac Pro. I transcode a lot of video and just wonder why Compressor only ever seems to use about 30-40% of the available CPU power. Programmes like Quicktime X use nearly 100%.

Any ideas how to pump up the compressor power??
