So recently my computer has slowed down a lot. I can't play HQ flash videos anymore, can't play some games anymore (well I can but I get significant computer lag, starcraft 2 on lowest settings).

For my entire computer life up until now I've had no problems playing sc2 at medium settings (I use low by choice), or streaming HQ video.

My computer is a 2011 macbook pro. I've checked activity monitor, with only chrome and iTunes open, I still get some delay as I am typing this:

CPU
%user 5.26
% system 6.88
% idel 87

System memory
free 940 mb
wired 778 mb
active 1.77 gb
inactive 421

disk use
space utilized 438.29 gb
space free 22.91 gb

I have no idea what is slowing my computer down. I have had no problems up until yesterday, when now everything lags. I haven't installed anything new, and from my activity monitor nothing is using over 10% of my CPU (chrome is the highest at 9.3).

I've also tried to play the HQ video in three different browsers, and I get lag on all three (chrome, safari and firefox).

In bootcamp (Win7) the video plays fine on chrome.

I really don't understand what is going on. Considering a complete reinstall of OSX but not really that keen on doing it :/
