Hey I'm new to this forum but am desperate for advice. I dropped my macbook pro and it dented write where the sound is (that little flap next to the headphone jack). I went to the Apple store and they said that it could cost around a thousand dollars to fix but that seems excessively high to me. Does anyone know of any 3rd party places that would fix it for cheaper or anyway I could get the Applecare policy to cover the damage? any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks a lot.

I would imagine you're SOL. I don't even know if AppleCare would cover damage like that (same way a car's warranty doesn't cover an accident).

I would never spend a thousand dollars to fix a computer. If you can't make do or find a cheaper way, bite the bullet and go new or refurb.
