OK so I was doing some research into making my MacinTivo a part of a really cool home theater system, and it seems that projectors have now reached my price range (~$1000).

So this is to all the people who've looked into them or have bought them.

I got a ton of great info from here:
http://hometheater.about.com/cs/television/a/aavprojectora.htm

Basically I'm leaning towards a DLP projector, but a good LCD would work fine. I'd also be interested in a ~$2000 CRT projector, but I'm pretty sure these don't exist.

If it's an LCD, here are my requirements:
1. Great refresh rate
2. 1024x768 would be nice, but I'll settle for 1080i if the price is right
3. that "screen door" effect is totally unacceptable, it must minimize this
4. Standard bulbs so when I replace them, they wont cost me too much (some example prices would be nice).

DLP:
1. 1024x768 would be nice, but I'll settle for 1080i if the price is right
2. Standard bulbs so when I replace them, they wont cost me too much (some example prices would be nice).
3. Minimal "rainbow" effect (how bad does it get with these things, anyway?)

Also, what are the prices on bulbs these days? where can I get them and how much do they cost?

Do you have any specific brands to stay away from/look towards?

Is there DVI on any of them or just VGA?

Thanks guys.
