Have a MacBook pro from sometime in 2007 with snow leopard on it. Went titian it on today, heard the chime but the screen won't turn on. It stays black no matter what. Tried an scm restart and pram, neither worked. Any ideas?

I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but I do this all the time and forget.
I'm new to owning a mac, and I turn my screen off when im going to sleep rather than closing the lid. I always wake up thinking the battery died. Could it be that? Again, not trying to be a dick.
