I have an iPhone and when I'm in my house I like to use wifi from my Mac. I'm running leopard 10.5 osx. I go to AirPort, create a network and I see it on the mac and iPhone. After I turn the computer off and back on it's gone. Is there a way to create a network that will not disappear?

No. Just the modem that was given to me from my cable company.

I think you misunderstood, my recommendation as to the solution is to buy a router, and hook that into the modem.

If you cannot afford a router, set up Internet Sharing through Sharing preferences (this is not what you did right?) to take your Ethernet connection and share it wirelessly through AirPort, and make sure you set a WEP password.

I did set it up through AirPort and was able to see it and connect. Turned my computer on today and the network was gone
