Computers Registration

Bought a used imac and was wondering if I can check if the previous owner had registered the machine. Is there a way to check?

You could probably call up AppleCare. They can tell you whether its registered or not but will not tell you the name of the person its registered to, and they can re-register it in your name.

Hmm, is there anything I can check on the computer like a system file or something?

No registration files are saved locally on the system with the exception of serialized software like iWork and professional applications.
