Concern with Gmail Push

Hey everyone. I've setup my Gmail account on my iPhone 3GS via exchange server to use the Google Calendar, Contacts, and Email push system.

However, when deleting an email from my inbox, that particular email disappears as if I've "deleted it forever" in Gmail. It's no where to be found. On the Gmail IMAP or POP inbox you had an option to keep deleted mail "on your iphone deleted box". That option is nowhere to be found when using the exchange server.

Any ideas?
