I have read a lot about the AEBS not being supported and being very unreliable for Time Machine backups. But since using a standard USB drive usually means that my backups are 1 or 2 weeks old, I intend to at least give it a shot and see whether it works in my case.

However I was wondering whether the "unreliability" usually shows up during the backup process or when trying to restore data. The former wouldn't really be a big issue in my opinion since I can just do a new backup if the old one becomes corrupted. However if the backup becomes corrupted and this only becomes apparent when restoring, it would obviously make the whole method kind of pointless. Does anyone have any experience with this?
