Configuration setting request - Sidebar

Can we get a configuration setting to enable/disable the Sidebar? I find it enormously annoying on a smaller screen device. Turning off on the forum view doesn't stick. It comes back whenever it chooses to reappear. Could you look into a mod to make that a toggle in SETTINGS to force it to always be ON or OFF?
